Last year in Week 1 the Buffalo Bills wide receivers accounted for four catches in their Week 1 win. The initial Bills receiver roster in 2017 was made up of six players. Philly Brown, Jordan Matthews, Andre Holmes, Zay Jones, Kaelin Clay and Brandon Tate were that initial group.
The 2018 Bills will feature at most half of those players with only Holmes, Jones and Clay in camp. Determining a quarterback early is important, because they need to develop chemistry and timing with the receivers.
What is the urgency though if they don’t know who they are throwing to?
