Tuesday afternoon on social media, the Indianapolis Colts announced New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels, as their next head coach. By Tuesday evening, it was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that McDaniels would not be taking the Colts’ job and staying in New England as the offensive coordinator.
McDaniels had already started hiring assistants to his staff, including new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. Now the Colts are on the search for their next head coach.
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com speculated that current Buffalo Bills’ defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier could be in consideration for the vacant head coaching job with the Colts.
