The Buffalo Bills were allocated rugby star Christian Wade on Monday, adding the 27-year old athlete to the roster. Wade joins the Bills via the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program, which started in 2017 and provides international athletes the chance to make an NFL roster if they choose to pursue that dream.
Wade is projected as a running back in the NFL, and he has plenty of success carrying the ball, albeit in rugby, throughout his professional career. He has 82 Premiership Rugby tries, analogous to touchdowns in American football, over the course of his career.
