Ed Oliver was taken with the ninth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills; a position that many media outlets projected Oliver would never reach as he would be taken within the Top 5. This was unfortunate for Oliver, but was extremely fortunate for the Bills as Detroit would select T.J. Hockenson at the eight spot leaving Oliver for the taking at nine.
