Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor could miss multiple games with an MCL sprain suffered on a horse-collar tackle in last Sunday’s game against Tennessee and are preparing to start EJ Manuel for this Sunday’s game against Cincinnati, according to Jason La Confora of CBSSports.com.
Coach Rex Ryan had put the word out Monday that Taylor is “beat up right now,” and Tuesday’s addition of a third quarterback, Josh Johnson, to the 53-man roster was the first indication of escalated concern over Taylor’s health.
According to an NFL source, Taylor “apparently is hurt pretty bad,” because the Bills spent a good portion of Monday and the first part of Tuesday trying to address their quarterback depth in the event Taylor is out for the Bengals game and possibly longer.
