ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills wide receiver Robert Woods suffered a severe groin injury in Sunday's 35-25 loss to the Washington Redskins and his season is likely over, coach Rex Ryan said Monday.
Woods, who has been the Bills' full-time No. 2 receiver since Percy Harvin was placed on injured reserve in early November, finishes his third NFL season with 47 catches for 552 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games played. Next season will be the final year of his rookie contract.
The Bills have a "real possibility" to promote receiver Dezmin Lewis, the team's seventh-round draft pick this past May, to the 53-man roster to replace Woods, Ryan said Monday.
