Bills will move Anthony Lynn to coaches' booth to call plays

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- New Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn will call plays from the coaches' booth beginning with Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Former offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who was fired Friday, called plays from the sideline.

Coach Rex Ryan announced the change Wednesday while also noting that he has been attending offensive meetings this week, something he has not regularly done in the past.

"I'm more of an observer," Ryan said. "If asked questions, I'll give a defensive perspective. But that's pretty much it."

Ryan, who calls defensive plays and has an extensive background on that side of the ball, plans to continue attending the offensive meetings for the foreseeable future.
