Buffalo Bills slot cornerback Taron Johnson was injured on the first defensive series Sunday. He lowered his head and shoulder and laid into LB Matt Milano who was making the tackle on the play. Milano was walking gingerly after the hit but stayed in the game.
Johnson walked off on his own power. Siran Neal is in the game as his replacement.
Despite being called the “nickel cornerback”, Johnson pays starter reps for the Bills. In fact, he has the fifth-most snaps of any player on Buffalo’s defense, playing nearly 80% of the defensive snaps during the first 15 games of the season.
