PITTSFORD – All it takes is one injury in today’s NFL for a team’s depth to be exposed.
The situation the Buffalo Bills find themselves in after losing reserve middle linebacker Ty Powell for the season because of a torn ACL illustrates that perfectly.
Powell, primarily a special teams player in his first two seasons with the Bills, had been praised throughout the spring and early in training camp by coach Rex Ryan for the job he had done defensively. It was clear the coaching staff felt comfortable with Powell if anything happened to starting middle linebacker Preston Brown.
