On his 52nd birthday Wednesday, Thurman Thomas was told that his jersey will be officially retired by the Buffalo Bills. While Thomas joined One Bills Live to talk to Steve Tasker and John Murphy about the honor, a Bruce Smith from Virginia called in to congratulate his former teammate and tell him there’s no sense in trying to get ready for the ceremony.
“You can’t prepare for it. It’s even more emotional than your speech at the Hall of Fame because you’re in front of the home crowd,” said Smith.
