In mid-March the Bills signed free agent RB Joe Banyard, a six-year vet who has carved out an NFL career as a special teamer and downhill runner. Naturally football is Banyard’s profession, but his off the field hobby is pretty unique.

Banyard hunts rattlesnakes back in his hometown of Sweetwater, Texas.

“It’s called the rattlesnake roundup,” Banyard said in an appearance on the John Murphy Show. “Basically we gather up as many rattlesnakes as possible, put them in a big bin and you auction them off for meat, skin, whatever the buyers want.
