The Buffalo Bills are releasing starting safety Aaron Williams, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Josina Anderson on Thursday.
Williams, 26, has missed 22 games over the past two seasons because of neck injuries. His most recent neck injury came on a block by Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry in October that landed Williams on injured reserve for the second consecutive season.
The move will save $1.775 million in salary-cap space for the Bills in 2017, unless the team designates Williams as a post-June 1 cut. If they do, Williams' full $6.
