The Bills are still finalizing their 53-man roster with the season opener just five days away. On Tuesday morning they played host to free agent Brandon Tate and he was signed a short time later.
Tate, 28, has made his living in the NFL as a kickoff and punt returner. The veteran return specialist and receiver played the last five seasons in Cincinnati.
Tate (6-1, 195) has averaged 24.6 yards per kick return and 9.2 yards per punt return in his career. The eight-year veteran has three career returns for touchdowns. Last season his number dipped a bit from those averages to 22.
