Bills sign Eric Wood to two-year contract extension

The last time it happened was a week before the 2013 season opened. Apparently the Bills and Eric Wood felt that timing worked well four years ago. On Saturday, the team signed the center to a two-year contract extension that runs through 2019.

Wood, 31, was entering the final year of his current contract, which underwent a restructuring in 2016.

Now the center, who went to his first Pro Bowl in 2015, can continue to anchor Buffalo’s offensive line in the pivot for the foreseeable future. Wood was well on his way to another Pro Bowl season in 2016 before it was cut short by a broken leg in Week 10 that required season-ending surgery.
