The Buffalo Bills announced the release of five players on Monday including CB Nickell Robey-Coleman, K Dan Carpenter, LS Garrison Sanborn, TE Gerald Christian and S Phillip Thomas.
Carpenter, 31, was entering the final year of his four-year, $9.95 million contract and set to make a base salary of $2.125 million for the 2017 season.
In 2016, Carpenter appeared in all 16 games for the Bills and converted 19 of 25 field goal attempts (76 percent) to go along with 40 of 45 extra point tries (88.9 percent).
