Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has officially been named the 2024 recipient of the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award. The award, created in 2014 and named after Pittsburgh Steelers founder Art Rooney Sr., is given annually to the NFL player who best exemplifies sportsmanship on the field.
Each NFL team nominates one player for the honor, and from that pool of 32, eight finalists are selected by members of the NFL Legends Community. The final vote is then cast by players league-wide as part of the 2024 Pro Bowl Games ballot.
While there’s no doubt that Allen is a leader, he is also a fierce competitor, so his selection for this award is just another chapter in what might end up being the most delightfully contradictory season of an NFL career.
