After suffering an ankle injury in Week 14 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, safety James Ihedigbo was placed on the Injured Reserve list by the Buffalo Bills today.
He is the third Bills safety to hit IR this season, joining Aaron Williams and Robert Blanton.
The veteran defensive back played in four games for Buffalo in 2016 and was credited with 15 tackles.
Also, the Bills waived recent practice-squad call up Bryson Albright.
To fill the two suddenly open roster spots, Buffalo promoted safety Shamiel Gary and offensive lineman Michael Ola from the practice squad.
Ola — who was an undrafted free agent out of Hampton in 2011 — saw some limited time with the Bills earlier in the season, and Gary — a 2014 UDFA out of Oklahoma State — has been on the practice squad for a few weeks.
