EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – All along, “Rex Bowl I” was supposed to have been a close, competitive game.
What else could be expected from Rex Ryan’s first go-around against a team he had coached for six years and with which he built the bombastic reputation he brought with him to the Buffalo Bills?
The 22-17 victory at MetLife Stadium on Thursday night did not disappoint.
“Woo!” Ryan said. “I knew that was going to be a slugfest, no question about it. The game felt like playoff intensity, obviously, and both teams fighting for their lives to get in.
