Bills-Giants final score: self-inflicted wounds doom Buffalo in loss

The Buffalo Bills could not get out of their own way on Sunday in their second loss of the season.

The Buffalo Bills made a game of it in the fourth quarter and actually outgained the New York Giants, but more self-inflicted wounds cost them a shot at completing the comeback.

Penalty stats:

  • Twice the Bills had long touchdowns called back due to penalty.
  • They were called for 17 penalties total, the third-most in team history.
  • They had more penalties (17) that first downs (14).

The Bills were able to make it a one-score game halfway through the fourth quarter but on the Giants next possession, Rashad Jennings took a third down stop and made multiple defenders miss on his way to a 50-yard score.
