Is Tyrod Taylor an upgrade over his recent predecessors at quarterback for the Buffalo Bills? Almost assuredly. Could he be the team's long-term option at the position? Possibly.
Is he ready for a contract extension this offseason? I don't believe so.
Among the several financial decisions the Bills will need to make this offseason -- from a potential extension for cornerback Stephon Gilmore, to re-signing Cordy Glenn and Richie Incognito, to possibly releasing Mario Williams -- will be what to do with Taylor, who will enter the final year of his contract after the third year is voided because of his playing time this season.
