The Buffalo Bills claimed wide receiver Leonard Hankerson off waivers Monday from the New England Patriots.
Hankerson takes the roster spot of wide receiver and core special teams contributor Marcus Easley, who was placed on injured reserve Monday after dislocating his knee cap and breaking his knee in three places during Sunday's win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Hankerson, 26, is only under contract through the remainder of the season. He will become an unrestricted free agent in March, so he is effectively a one-game rental for the Bills unless the two sides reach a new deal in the coming months.
