The Buffalo Bills placed safety Aaron Williams on injured reserve-designated to return last Wednesday for precautionary reasons, his mother told ESPN.
"Nothing unusual for someone returning from an injury, right? The thing I'd equate it to is much like when you hurt your shoulder and come back," Val Williams told ESPN's Johnette Howard by phone last week. "When you hit someone again, it's going to hurt. Nothing's wrong. But it's going to hurt.
"I think the Bills are being smart about this. Even after he had his first tackle and he came out, they were checking him, seeing if he was OK.
