Bills agree to terms with Colton Schmidt

The Bills didn't make returning quarterback Tyrod Taylor to the fold their only move on Wednesday with respect to their roster. Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott also announced that the club has agreed to terms with P Colton Schmidt on a new contract.

Schmidt had a gross punting average of 42.4 yards last season, his second with the Bills. He also had 20 punts downed inside the 20 as Buffalo ranked sixth in the league in punt coverage in 2016.

Seeing special teams coordinator Danny Crossman retained by new head coach Sean McDermott likely had an impact on Schmidt's desire to return to the Bills.
