Bills add QB Wenning to the roster

With just one healthy quarterback in rookie Nate Peterman, the Bills had to act quickly to add to the position. On Monday Buffalo signed free agent QB Keith Wenning to the roster.

Wenning, 26, fills the open spot that existed on the team’s 90-man roster. The 6-3, 225-pound signal caller is a former sixth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2014. It was there that he was coached by Bills offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, who was the Ravens quarterbacks coach at the time.

Wenning did not make the roster, but served the entire 2014 season on Baltimore’s practice squad, so he’s relatively familiar with Buffalo’s offensive scheme.
