The Buffalo Bills trimmed down their roster to 53 players Saturday afternoon, and on the latest Billeve Podcast, host John Boccacino offers up his reactions to roster cut-down day.
Unlike in years past, general manager Brandon Beane and the Bills have built a competitive roster, of which an intense battle to make the squad was made even more so during this unusual offseason without preseason games.
Boccacino shares his insights into which players were the biggest surprises to earn a roster spot (including defensive end Trent Murphy, linebacker Del’Shawn Phillips, and quarterback Jake Fromm) and which were the most surprising cuts (including wide receiver/returner Andre Roberts, safety Dean Marlowe, offensive lineman Evan Boehm and quarterback Davis Webb).
