On the heels of President Trump’s incendiary remarks about NFL players who kneel during the national anthem, Bills LB Lorenzo Alexander sensed the anger and offense taken to the President’s comments. There were players who wanted to respond with a demonstration the following day during the national anthem. The veteran remembered head coach Sean McDermott’s comments from the preseason when Cam Jefferson raised his fist during the preseason game at Philadelphia.
After a team meeting back in August it was clear that players could express themselves. Buffalo’s head coach just wanted to be kept informed of such plans.
