The Buffalo Bills thought they were an elite pass-rush specialist away from playoff glory heading into the 2022 NFL season. They had just experienced the debacle that was the “13 seconds” game. Their top cornerback, Tre’Davious White, was due back in the middle of the season, and the hope was that he would round into form by the playoffs, with a dominant pass rush combining with an elite secondary to push the Bills over the hump.
As we all know, that didn’t happen. Buffalo’s big-ticket pass rusher was excellent for half a season, but he tore his ACL on Thanksgiving.
