The Buffalo Bills have held internal discussions about signing blue chip free agent defensive end Trey Flowers, according to ESPN reporter Josina Anderson. Flowers, who ranked fifth on SB Nation’s 2019 free agent rankings, is entering the prime of his career at 25 years old.
Anderson mentioned that the discussions were still early, mostly on the level of gathering opinions about the player. She also mentioned that the Bills held similar discussions about players who ultimately ended up under a franchise tag. That list, which includes Frank Clark, Jadeveon Clowney, Dee Ford, and Demarcus Lawrence, means that Flowers is the best available pass rusher on the market.
