The NFL is full of players who switched positions at some point in their careers. There are wide receivers who used to play quarterback, cornerbacks who used to play wide receiver, linebackers who used to play safety, and plenty others. The Buffalo Bills have had experience with the position-switch types before. Jason Peters, a collegiate tight end, developed into an All-Pro left tackle; George Wilson became a capable starting safety after struggling to stick as a fringe wide receiver. Even Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly was infamously recruited by Penn State—as a linebacker.
