Fred Mangione, who had long been Brett Yormark’s No. 2 as chief operating officer, then chief of staff for the Nets, is leaving Brooklyn for the Jets.
In an email sent out Thursday evening, Mangione announced his change of address.
Tomorrow is my last day with the Brooklyn Nets and Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment. After 17 great years I am moving on to the New York Jets.
Not an easy decision to leave my Brooklyn family but one I am excited about.
Mangione did not say what he will be doing for the New Jersey-based Jets, but Sports Business Journal reports it’s a new job.
