A Yahoo! Sports investigation indicates that Isaiah Whitehead is now embroiled in the fast-moving and growing college basketball scandal centered on illegal payments to top prospects.
Yahoo gained access to a series of documents in the scandal. Among them is one from 2015 that shows Whitehead had more than $36,000 in outstanding “loans“ from Andy Miller, the former NBA agent, while a freshman at Seton Hall. The Nets drafted Whitehead in 2016. He was first Brooklyn native to join his hometown team.
Any such payments would be a clear violation of NCAA regulations and could expose Seton Hall to sanctions both retroactive and going forward.
