WPIX, Channel 11, which already has a marketing deal with the Nets and Barclays Center, will start broadcasting from a street-level Flatbush Avenue studio at the arena starting Monday.
The studio is in a former retail space. The studio will be used for daily live shots in WPIX’s signature newscasts, as well as for special presentations around big concerts and shows, civic and political events, discussions, debates and community.
"We're really excited to have you guys part of the Barclays Center," Brett Yormark told the WPIX cameras Friday during a ground breaking. "You guys are now the content hub to Brooklyn, whether it's artist content, or the Nets, the Islanders, so the community benefits, we benefit from a building perspective, and we're just so happy to do something that's uniquely different than any other venue in the country.
