Though the Brooklyn Nets have yet to officially announce Jordi Fernández’s hire as the team’s new head coach, it appears they are already fleshing out the newcomer’s staff.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Sunday afternoon that Brooklyn is adding Steve Hetzel to the staff, likely as Fernández’ top assistant.
Steve Hetzel will be joining Jordi Fernandez’s new Brooklyn Nets coaching staff as an assistant, sources tell ESPN. Hetzel spent the past three seasons in Portland with Chauncey Billups after stops under Steve Clifford with Orlando and Charlotte.

As Woj mentions, Hetzel is well-traveled within the NBA, having been an assistant coach with the Portland Trail Blazers for the past three years after stops in Orlando and Charlotte.
