The Brooklyn Nets’ decision to sign two of the NBA’s biggest free agents — Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving — is already paying dividends for their Russian billionaire, owner Mikhail Prokhorov, The Post has learned.
The Brooklyn team, which ranked among the worst in the NBA just two years ago, is projecting that revenue for the upcoming season will pop by 10 to 15 percent — and that’s before Durant, their biggest new star, even makes it on to the court, an insider told The Post.
The forward, who last played for the Golden State Warriors, signed on with the Nets — over Manhattan’s New York Knicks — while recovering from an Achilles tendon injury that should keep him on the sidelines for a year.
