LAS VEGAS — The four-year, $75 million offer sheet the Nets handed restricted free agent Allen Crabbe may be bigger and costlier than originally believed. Scouts The Post talked to felt that for a Brooklyn team in full-on rebuild, Crabbe may be worth the risk, comparing him with players such as Tim Thomas and Allan Houston.
“I like it. The money aside, he’s a young guy that’s up-and-coming,” veteran scout Scott McGuire said. “They’re catching him at the right time. The next year or two should be his prime. I kind of like it. If you’d told me two years ago, I wouldn’t, but give the kid the credit.
