Wayne Ellington proves he should contend for starting position

In an extremely disappointed preseason loss to Fenerbache Ulker Monday, there may not be much energy to look for positives. Despite a lackluster performance, there were a couple players who proved they can be key contributors for the upcoming season. Wayne Ellington proved to be one of them.

Ellington finished the game with 16 points on 4-for-7 shooting from beyond the arc, two rebounds, and two assists in 30 minutes. Heading into this season, the shooting guard position is the biggest question mark for the Nets because there isn’t a clear cut starter. There were reports that Bojan Bogdanovic was ready to take on a bigger role and become the routine guy night in and night out, but many questioned whether or not he could take on those responsibilities in just his second year in the league.
