Vince Carter gets standing ovation in final Nets goodbye

On the same night the Nets welcomed back their biggest star in Kyrie Irving, they bid goodbye to arguably the most spectacular star they ever had when Vince Carter played his final game in Brooklyn.

Carter — who turns 43 on Jan. 26 — played his last game in New York on Sunday. The ex-Net had eight points, three steals and two rebounds in 14 minutes 27 seconds, getting repeated ovations from the crowd.

“It’s always great to receive a standing ovation coming into or checking out of the game. It’s always extra special when it’s a team I’ve played for before,” said Carter, who walked to center court and waved to acknowledge the crowd afterward.
