The Brooklyn Nets were not scared off when Kevin Durant ruptured his Achilles in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
They still offered him a max contract with the hopes that he can return to his superstar self. It’s highly unlikely that Durant plays at all next season.
According to Dr. Steven Weinfeld, Chief of Foot and Ankle Surgery at Mount Sinai Health System, there is a strong chance that Durant can make a full recovery.
“I think he’ll probably be somewhere between 90 and 100%,” stated Dr. Weinfeld via Nets Insider.
