Get ready for the return of Masked Kyrie Irving.
The newly minted Nets star will don a mask during practice after suffering a left-side facial fracture last week, head coach Kenny Atkinson told reporters Saturday.
Irving, who didn’t practice Saturday and is considered day-to-day, took a non-malicious elbow to the face during a pickup game this past Tuesday at the team’s practice facility in Brooklyn.
It’s unclear how long Irving will return to his familiar look. He wore the protective mask twice before, in 2012 and 2017, after suffering similar injuries.
The Nets open up preseason on Oct.
