Dec. 4 marks the day Shawn Carter was born. The rapper turned mogul is a legend in Brooklyn, so it makes sense for the Brooklyn Nets to celebrate the day. After all, he was a minority owner of the team.
The Nets brought out a cake for Jay-Z in Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum. Friend and Roc Nation affiliate Emory Jones posted the cake on his Instagram, thanking the team. While he misspelled Nets’ CEO Brett Yormark’s name, the sentiment was appreciated.
The cake featured ornaments from Jay-Z’s past including a Yankees hat and several images of previous album covers.
