TASS, the big Russian news agency that predicted Lionel Hollins firing a month before it happened, reports Monday that David Blatt, the ousted Cavaliers coach, is "one of the main candidates" for the Nets head coaching job. The Nets are not expected to move on head coaching candidates until after a new general manager is chosen.
"Brooklyn [Nets] is currently considering several candidacies for the post of the club’s head coach and Blatt’s candidacy is the priority one," the source said in an interview with TASS. The source was described as "familiar with the matter.
