Spencer Dinwiddie proves he didn’t need sneaker deal with this project

Spencer Dinwiddie mixed his hobby with his philanthropy. Oh, and in classic Dinwiddie style, thumbed his nose at the shoe companies that had rejected him.

If they wouldn’t give Dinwiddie a sneaker deal, he would create his own. The result has been a backup point guard putting together arguably the most ambitious shoe project ever, his sneaker line K8IROS.

The custom shoes — tailored to each game, either because of the Nets’ opponent, city they visited or event in the news — are auctioned off afterward, with part of the proceeds going to youth charities.
