Spencer Dinwiddie has been playing despite torn ligaments in his right thumb for months, and eventually is going to need surgery. But the point guard, his family and the Nets still haven’t determined when he’ll go under the knife, and whether he’ll try to play through the pain with Brooklyn gunning for the playoffs.
“It’s been bothering him, I think that’s fair to say,” Nets coach Kenny Atkinson said. “He tweaked it and it hasn’t been 100 percent since.”
Atkinson confirmed there is a chance Dinwiddie — who was not available for comment, and missed Friday’s game versus the Knicks at Barclays Center — could play through the pain this season and have surgery over the summer.
