Sidelined Willie Reed only can hope and pray for Nets roster spot

As the Nets draw closer to Monday’s deadline to set their roster to the regular-season limit of 15 players, Willie Reed is waiting to see if he’ll make it.

“I’m outside the loop, just like you guys,” Reed said following Thursday’s practice. “I don’t know what’s going to happen.

“I’m praying every day and trying to do my part. All I’m trying to do is go out here and support my teammates and do everything I can, and hope that what I’ve done here in the past is enough.”

Reed is out for another several weeks after undergoing surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his right thumb last week, further impacting the Nets’ big man depth.
