SACRAMENTO, Calif. — After the Nets began their season with seven straight losses, Shane Larkin went to general manager Billy King and coach Lionel Hollins and told them he was disappointed with how he had played.

He didn’t waste any time proving he meant what he said.

Larkin was instrumental in Brooklyn’s stunning 106-98 win Wednesday night in Houston, helping snap the team’s losing streak to start the season by racking up 15 points and eight rebounds in 23 minutes — including scoring 10 and grabbing all eight boards in the second half.
