Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that the Brooklyn Nets have acquired Greg Monroe and a 2021 second-round pick from the Toronto Raptors. Not long after, Mike Scotto of The Athletic reported that the Nets will waive Monroe.

The Nets didn’t give any players in the trade. Instead, they took on Monroe’s contract.
Masai Ujiri and Sean Marks have worked together in the past. The Nets took on DeMarre Carroll’s contract two years back, which eventually led to Dzanan Musa and Rodions Kurucs — Brooklyn’s first and second-round picks from this year’s draft.
