Sergey Karasev, working out, hoping to play in FIBA Europe

In interview with SovSport, the big Moscow sports paper, Sergey Karasev wouldn't close door on playing for Team Russia in FIBA Europe, but everything depends on his rehab.

Earlier this week, Team Russia released its preliminary roster and Karasev, still only 21, wasn't on it. Did that mean there was no chance he'd play in the FIBA Eurobasket in September? Not necessarily, he told SovSport. He said he spoke with Evgeny Pashutin, the national team coach, and both agreed the best plan would be for him to continue his rehab in New Jersey ... under the tutelage of Tim Walsh and his assistant, Lloyd Becket, the team's director of physical therapy.
