Saying Goodbye to the Best Brooklyn Nets Player Ever: Brook Lopez

Brook Lopez was drafted 10th overall by the New Jersey Nets back in the 2008 NBA Draft. Coming out of Stanford University, Lopez averaged 19.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game in his sophomore season.

After being drafted, an injury to center Josh Boone opened the starting position for Lopez. He immediately assumed the role. In his rookie season, he averaged 13.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. Although he earned two Rookie of the Month awards, he fell to third place in the Rookie of the Year vote.

In his fifth NBA season (12′-13′), Lopez received his first and only start in the NBA All-Star Game after point guard Rajon Rondo withdrew with an ACL injury.
