Ryan Gomes will be sitting, not playing, this season at Barclays Center. After an eight-year professional career that saw him play in the NBA, D-League, Spain and Germany, he's moved to the sidelines where he will be a rookie assistant coach for the Long Island Nets who will play their inaugural season in Brooklyn.
"I look back at my career and I am satisfied with what I did as a professional athlete," Gomes told his hometown paper in Waterbury, Connecticut, "at all levels, overseas, the NBA, and the development league."
As Joe Palladino of the Waterbury Republican-American wrote, the pro ladder didn’t have more rungs for Gomes.
