Ryan Boatright: The Unlikely X-Factor for the Nets

“The lion is the king of the jungle. All my life I always gave it my all, so everybody always said I had the heart of a lion.” – Ryan Boatright

Standing a mere height of 5’11”, Ryan Boatright has been doubted his entire basketball career. Boatright was never the talk of the town — until he tried out for his high school team. By his senior year at East Aurora High School, he would prove as standout point-guard, averaging over 31.2 points per game with the honor of Illinois Mr. Basketball. He was recruited by Miami, Oklahoma, and UNLV but ended up at UConn, uniting with star guard Shabazz Napier.
